Diamond reports and certification

A diamond laboratory report records characteristics of an examined stone. Read the actual report and its identification information, not just the laboratory’s name.

Check the reference

Compare the report number and specifications with the selected stone. Where the laboratory offers an online verification service, use the report number there.

Know what a report means

A grading or assessment report is not a promise of future resale value. Report formats and terminology can differ between laboratories and between natural and laboratory-grown diamonds.
