This stone carries both at once, and belongs entirely to itself. Basalt Dream is built around a 1.32 carat bluish green sapphire, formed in a basaltic environment where iron and titanium work quietly within the crystal to produce a colour that sits between water and moss, between calm and wild.

Flanking it are two princess cut diamonds totalling 0.34 carats in VS clarity and D-F colour, set in 14 karat white gold that lets the sapphire remain the only conversation in the room. Basalt related sapphires are found across a handful of countries, from Australia to Madagascar to Vietnam.

Origin often cannot be determined with certainty. What can be determined is the quality of the stone, and this one is exceptional.
