Clarity concerns internal inclusions and external blemishes. A laboratory assessment and a close-up image provide different kinds of information.
Assess the individual stone
The size, position and nature of clarity features affect their visibility. Two diamonds with the same clarity grade need not look identical.
Ask what you can see
If appearance without magnification matters to you, ask about the specific stone. A grade alone does not replace an individual visual assessment.
